Stories from the Mission

This collection of short stories is very engaging and offers insight, hope, and in some cases, solutions to the challenges facing the at-risk members of our community. I liked the thread of characters the reader has met popping into subsequent stories. These vulnerable people have been humanized by telling their stories, and the reader also gains insight into this difficult but rewarding work. The dedication of staff and volunteers, as well as the generosity of segments of the City of Guelph, shines through. Although the stories are “Guelphcentric,” the lessons within apply to all communities dealing with impoverished and unhoused persons. This is an essential read.
